Suacci Family Vineyard
The Suacci Family vineyard was established in 2001 by the Suacci family, who wanted to honor their Italian heritage and winemaking expertise. Brianne Suacci now serves as the Co-Founder of Bailarín Cellars.
The vineyard encompasses a 6.5-acre property located 10 miles from the Pacific ocean, southwest of Sebastopol in an area locally known as the Sebastopol Hills sub region of both the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast AVAs. Suacci is in the particularly cool and little known Blucher Valley with Blucher Creek running through its middle. This is a picture perfect site for growing Pinot Noir with Goldridge and Blucher soils on a south facing slope ranging from 174 to 260 ft in elevation planted with Dijon Clones 115 and 777 on 101-14 rootstock.
The vineyard is known for its coastal influence and short windows of warm temperatures, accompanied by the assertive ocean breeze from the Petaluma Gap. The hard work required by these challenging farming conditions is rewarded by fruit with intense layered flavors, mature tannins, and vibrant acidity. The resulting wines age gracefully, exhibiting complex aromas, flavors, and signature spice characters which evolve over time. On average, this vineyard yields approximately 2.25 tons per acre of tiny, explosive clusters that John Suacci affectionately calls "grenades."
Bailarín Cellars takes immense pride in presenting the core fruit of Bailarín Cellars, Suacci Pinot Noir, which showcases the distinctive character of this exceptional vineyard.
